Kid-Friendly Baby Shower Games

26th Mar 2020

Baby showers with guests of all ages are becoming more and more popular as welcoming a new baby is something for everyone to celebrate - not just the new mommy! If you're hosting a baby sprinkle for a second or third baby, then it might be a no-brainer to have partners and other kiddos invited to the event.

A family-friendly baby shower can be similar to a regular baby shower or just more casual. Baby shower games are always a great addition to the event to give guests an activity to do and the host is able to give out some fun prizes. Baby shower games with kiddos can be even more fun because it gets them involved in the event. Let's face it, tweens and teens may not find conversations about morning sickness and swollen feet all that interesting.

Finding baby shower games that work for all ages can be a challenging, but to kick off some ideas, here are some super easy baby shower games that adults and kiddos can both enjoy!

Animal Gestation Guessing Game

While nine months can feel like a very long time, especially is you are the pregnant one. Just imagine how long these other animals have to carry their young. In this game, players will need to guess how many days each of these animals has to carry their little one before it is born.

To prevent completely stumping players, in this free animal gestation game printable, we include an answer key so that your players will only need to plug in the answer that they think is correct. Kids will love this game because many are very familiar with animals and will get a kick from trying their hand in guessing the length of the gestation periods for these different animals.

The person with the most answers correct wins. If you are having an all-ages baby shower, then you might want to offer two categories of winners - those under 18 and those 18 and older, so you can make sure that not only will an adult win, but you will also have a younger winner as well!

Baby Word Search

            baby shower word search game

A baby word search game needs no introduction! Kids will be familiar with this type of game. Players will each be given a game sheet and pen, then they will try to find the different words in the word search. The person who finds all the words first, wins! Again, if you will have a lot of guests playing, you may offer a prize to an adult and then another prize to a youngster.

Clay / Play-doh Baby Making Contest

                  play doh baby making contest

Looking for a hands-on, interactive game for all guests? Consider hosting a play-doh baby making contest! This is a hilarious game where each player is given a ball of clay or play-doh and a plate. Within a certain amount of time, they will need to sculpt their own little baby. When everyone is done, the parents-to-be will choose the winner! They can choose winners in different categories - most realistic, funniest, most confusing...and so on.

This can be an awesome game for the kiddos because all kids love play-doh! If you have the game early enough in the event, then you can give the kiddos the play-doh after the game to keep them busy. Although, you might want to make sure to take pictures of the clay creations before they are destroyed so the parents-to-be can look back and laugh at the memories.

Don't Say Baby

Don't Say Baby is a highly interactive game that kids will love. In this game, each guest is given a pin. Throughout the event, if a guest overhears another say the word "baby," then they are allowed to take the pin of the person who said "baby" and keep it for their own (unless, of course, they say "baby" - then theirs may get taken away!).

The person who has the most pins at the end of the event wins a prize! Kids will love this game because they will undoubtedly be milling around while adults have conversations and it'll be easy and fun for them to keep their ears open for that magical word!

Name that Baby Animal

Most all kids love baby animals, but do they know the names of all those sweet little animals? Sure, they know all about kitties and puppies - what what about goslings and antlings?

                   baby shower animal match game

In a name that baby animal baby shower game, players will need to try and match the baby animal name with their mama animal. To make this not-so-hard, there is answer key for everyone to use to help them with their guesses. The person with the most guesses correct, wins!

Pin the Binky on the Baby

Pin the Binky on the Baby is a version of the classic "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" game that many kids and adults alike are familiar with playing. A binky is just another name for pacifier - some places even call a pacifier a "dummy," so if you're looking for the game online, then it may go under different names.

This can be a great kids-only game if you're looking for something just for the little ones. Just make sure that the game is of a good height, then get all the kids ready. The one who is up will be blindfolded, then spun around three times. They will have a little binky with some double-sided tape on one side (or a sticker - it depends on how the game is set up), then they will try to put their binky closest to the baby's mouth. The person who gets their binky the closest wins!
